Chapter 88 The Boy

This agate jade was something they had obtained after much difficulty; it was rare and therefore quite novel to many. So, many people began bidding. "50 million!" someone stood up and shouted. "80 million."

"100 million!" Suddenly, a voice interrupted. "100 million! Who is this person?!" Everyone was curious to know who had bid 100 million.
Since no one had bid more than 100 million, the item sold for 100 million to a merchant's son.
The second item was a chain, made of pure crystal with a purple sheen. This time, the auctioneer didn't waste any time and started the auction directly.
"100 million," Bing Tong suddenly spoke up. "Bing'er, do you like that chain?" Ying Lin turned and asked. "Yes."
"200 million!" Suddenly, someone challenged her. Looking closely, it turned out to be You Yun and his group.
"500 million." Perfect; Bing Tong lacked everything except money.
"600 million." Youyun seemed to be at odds with Bingtong, always matching her every number she called out.
This time, Bingtong was furious. She shouted, "1 billion!" After that, Youyun remained silent for a long time. Just as the host was about to announce that the chain belonged to Bingtong, Youyun suddenly said, "2 billion." Hearing him say 2 billion, Bingtong didn't say anything more. After all, this was her property, and the money from the auction would definitely be hers. Seeing that Bingtong was silent, the host awarded the chain to Youyun and his group.
Next was the last item. This time, the host didn't announce the name but directly pulled back the red cloth. The scene that followed was shocking. A boy was seen with his hands and feet bound, stuffed with cloth, his eyes filled with fear. This aroused the interest of many people. "100 million," someone stood up and said, their eyes fixed on the boy, as if looking at their prey.
"1 billion," Bingtong said without saying anything more, simply stating a number. For Bing Tong, money was indeed just a number.
Seeing someone bid 1 billion, no one else raised the price, because they believed the boy wasn't worth that much.
And so, Bing Tong bought the boy for 1 billion.
After the auction, Bing Tong and her group were the first to stand up and enter the private room. Naturally, You Yun and the others saw them too. Entering the room, Bing Tong immediately lay down on the sofa. Yu Mo and Ying Lin sat on another sofa. A short while later, Ming came up, followed by the little boy.
Ming sat down on the sofa himself and then placed the little boy in front of Bing Tong. Previously, due to the lighting, Bing Tong hadn't been able to see his face clearly, but now she could. The little boy looked fearful; upon closer inspection, he had dark green eyes, a high nose bridge, and thin lips. It was clear he would grow up to be a handsome man.
"What's your name?" Bing Tong sat up and asked him. Perhaps because Bing Tong gave off a gentle feeling, the boy wasn't afraid of her anymore. He whispered, "My name is Andes." "Heh, is that so?" Hearing his voice, Bing Tong smiled. This smile had a profound effect; the boy stared at her intently. 'Her smile is so dazzling,' the boy thought.
Then Bing Tong asked, "Where are your parents? How did you end up here alone?" "I... my parents died in a car accident. I was sold here," the boy stammered.
Perhaps sensing his fear, Bing Tong reached out and patted his head, then said, "Don't worry, everything will be alright. Would you like to come with me?" "I... I would," the boy whispered. "Alright! Tomorrow I'll take you somewhere where the people will teach you kung fu and take care of your studies. Go there and hone your skills! I'll come see you." "Okay... okay." Hearing the boy's words, Bing Tong smiled, then turned to Ming and said, "Take him to that place tomorrow." "Yes." No one ever objected to Bing Tong's words.
"Alright, Ming, take him downstairs to get something to eat! We'll head back now." Bing Tong suddenly stood up and said. "Okay, be careful then." Ming stood there watching them leave.
