Chapter Two: Meeting

The principal watched Bing Tong's retreating figure thoughtfully, then the door slowly closed.

Bing Tong walked to the door of Class 2A, raised her hand and politely knocked. The door opened, revealing a female teacher in her thirties or forties. She said to Bing Tong, "Are you the new student who transferred today? Come in and introduce yourself!" She then stepped aside. The principal had already called her, saying a student would be transferring today. For the principal to call personally, it meant this person had a significant relationship with him.
Bing Tong walked gracefully into the classroom. Instantly, the previously noisy classroom quieted down, with only faint whispers audible. "Who is that girl? Why is she wearing a hat?" a girl asked the person next to her. "A new student!" the person answered, but their eyes remained fixed on the girl walking to the podium.
Bing Tong picked up a piece of chalk and wrote her name on the blackboard—Bing. Then she turned around, facing the entire class. "Did you see that? Her name is Bing! And she's wearing a hat, thinking she's so cool!" someone shouted. "Yeah! Who does she think she is! Acting so arrogant the moment she comes to this class, be careful the princes kick her out." The others chimed in.
Bing Tong ignored them, took out a pen and paper, wrote a few words, and handed them to the teacher standing at the door (adding a set of desks and chairs at the back). She didn't like people sitting in her seats. "But there are still many seats at the back of the classroom!" the teacher hurriedly replied. Although she had some connection with the principal, discipline still applied! (No buts, do as I say.) Bing Tong wrote the note, threw it at the teacher, and walked out of the classroom. The teacher stood there dumbfounded, terrified by the murderous aura emanating from Bing Tong.
Stepping out of the classroom, Bing Tong didn't know where to go. She walked slowly, and suddenly, a few cherry blossoms drifted down in front of her. She looked up slightly and saw a large cherry blossom grove. It was cherry blossom season, and Bing Tong was deeply attracted by the beauty, unconsciously walking towards the grove. However, she was completely unaware that this was a forbidden area of the school.
Suddenly, a voice broke the silence, "Stop! Who are you? Who gave you permission to come here? Don't you know this is forbidden area? Since this is your first time, get out of here, or don't blame me for being impolite." In a daze, a boy stood in front of her, coldly speaking to her. Hearing this voice, Bing Tong couldn't help but think of the boy from her childhood, the boy who said he would protect her for life—Wei Yi. Bing Tong slightly raised her head, 'Ha, it really is him. I didn't expect him to still be like this.'
Bing Tong kept staring at him, while Wei Yi felt he'd seen her somewhere before. Lost in thought, he was suddenly approached by a girl who affectionately linked arms with his, saying in a coquettish tone, "Brother Yi, what are you doing here! Class is about to start, everyone's already gone to class, let's hurry!" Suddenly, she noticed Bing Tong standing nearby and turned to Wei Yi, asking, "Brother Yi, who is she?" She pointed at Bing Tong as she spoke. "Nothing, just someone who trespassed into the cherry blossom grove, don't mind her," Wei Yi said, affectionately patting the girl's head.
Then, he gave Bing Tong a cold look, pulled the girl away, and left. Bing Tong's eyes were filled with heartache. 'Why?' she wondered, watching them disappear into the distance.
